That Was a Fargin’ Trick Question!

By: Fred Palowakski on 04/22/09 @ 6:00 am

It looks as if Perez Hilton, the gossiper of all gossipers, has his panties in a proverbial twist over Miss California Carrie Prejean’s answer to his question in the Miss USA pageant.

perez-asshole1

Mr. Hilton, that gay guy who looks an awful lot like Jimmy Neutron that just happened to turn a life of watching E! Entertainment television on cable growing up into a “career” asked Miss Prejean during the Q&A session of the pageant, “Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?”

She replied, “Well I think it’s great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. Um, we live in a land that you can choose same sex marriage or opposite marriage and, you know what, in my country and in, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman,” Carrie said to a mix of boos and applause. “No offense to anybody out there. But that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think that it should be between a man and a woman.”

Alliterations and beach blonde California-chicky speak aside, she gave what I would say is an honest answer.

Miss USA

Her answer was, in the eyes of Perez Hilton, not a good one, however, and he believes that because of her answer she lost the Miss USA crown.

Hold up, wait a minute. What a load of shit. We are talking about  a fucking beauty pageant. Looking to beauty queens for a pulse on the moral stance in America and intellectual growth is like scouting a Jr. High Dance recital for the next Jenna Jameson. (Quick joke: Jenna Jameson gave birth to twin boys recently and it is the only time on record a male came out of her…)

We all know there are only three reasons a woman loses a beauty pageant:

-Mommy didn’t love the contestant enough to bribe the judges/sabotage the other contestants

-There were not enough sequins on her dress.

- No cameltoe during the swimsuit competition.

Therefore, I don’t think that it the only reason she lost, and if it is, then I call “bullshit” on the entire judging panel for doing one thing…

Creating the same kind of intolerance and closed mindedness that they gay and lesbian movement is struggling so hard to get rid of.

Now, I am not an English professor, nor am I a scholar in anything other than soft core pornography, flatulence and alcohol by volume determination, but, the phrase, “Do you think” and “why or why not” put in the same sentence usually infers that there is going to be an opinion involved in the answer and as we all know, and especially Perez Hilton of all people should understand, opinions are neither right nor wrong, cut and dry.

So, to say that her answer is “wrong” is saying that anyone that has an opinion that differs from that of anyone for Same Sex Marriages is wrong. To place the weight of the entire beauty pageant crown on an opinionated answer is rediculous and quite frankly stinks. Miss Prejean gave an honest response to a loaded question with, in my opinion, no correct answer to be had.

Whether or not you think these same sex marriages should be legally recognized (yes) is neither here nor there. It’s a political, religious and moral standpoint that creates rifts amongst normally rational human beings and turns them into fucking nut jobs. And that makes the question in that particular forum even worse. So, shame on you, Perez. Way to put her and her hot, blonde, nice racked, long-legged, “gee, I’d like to see you in an Oyster Skirt because every time you bend over the world gets to see your oyster” ass on the spot in a environment where disagreeing with your stance is tantamount to burning at the stake.

Now leave her alone, Perez. I hear Lindsay Lohan is up to no good and hair gel is going to start being taxed up the ass.

Wrong choice of words…sorry.

Okay last week it was Garafalo, this week Hilton glad we have these socially and morally and ethically minded people with their finger on the pulse of all Americans of course, we all know where their fingers should and probably be after their 15 minutes are done

  2. Uncle John says:

Good point…she spoke out against the tea bag, and he speaks for all who like to tea bag…my error

I’m disappointed to see this be such the huge deal it turned out to be. It’s a freakin’ beauty pageant, not a murder, bank robbery, war, etc.

The question was loaded, that’s for certain. She answered honestly with HER answer, not a blanket statement which I think is what PH was looking for. She should have known better, period. Who do you think runs/supports/trains most of these pageants and contestants (besides overzealous moms and a guy with a wicked comb over)? THE GAYS!! Know who you’re working with girl!!

I also believe marriage should be between a man and a woman, BUT….it’s pretty damn sad when two people who build and spend their lives together get so screwed in the end when one of them gets sick and/or dies. You can’t make any medical decisions for your partner because you are not “family.” You can’t inherit your partner’s estate without paying out TONS of tax dollars because you weren’t married. There needs to be some option for them.

    It’s a slippery slope.

    • A slippery slope, I agree. It was a loaded question for sure. I also agree she should have had the awareness to know the crowd she was in and she could have tailored an answer according to that.

Regardless, as you say, its a beauty pageant, not Panmunjom. This’ll blow over and we can move on to something more important, like, Madonna adopting that pirate kid going to trial.

of course its a loaded question but she could have said it alot better than she did….its my opinion that she shoulnd have said “thats the way i was raised” it feels like an excuse for not making her own decision on the issue.

i mean my mother was born in atlanta and raised with segregation…but she dosent think its the right thing to be doing because that was the “way she was raised”.

If gays can become foster parents then why not give them a right to marry or at least some of the benefits that come with marriage.

Miss CA answered honestly. Perez should be somewhat please that she didn’t flat out lie to his face on national tv with some written statement that she practice over and over with.

  5. Don says:

I don’t see why Hilton is so incredibly pissed off. Its not like Prejean’s point of view is way out in left field or something… As demonstrated numerous times at the polls, the majority of Californians agree with her.

  6. Alexis says:

I’m sure her pageant coach is gay…and Perez, come on…she should have known how to answer the question to win…sheesh.

But seriously…she answered his question honestly…he wanted her opinion. Jackass.

    • Well, he is getting some major pub out of this though, so, conspiracy theory for ya…

Was this planned? Did he ask a loaded question knowing it would cause a stink?

      • Alexis says:

Are you asking my opinion? hee!

Of course..this is what he wanted. We’re discussing it, aren’t we? Good job for helping him win, Mr. Warren, good job.

  7. Rick says:

Trick question or no, this will eventually be one of those sound bites used in history classes. You know, like those ones from the 60s: “I’m not a racist, but in, in my country, and in my family, I think that interracial marriage is wrong.”

Sure, opinions aren’t right or wrong, but they can be stupid.

  8. December says:

I think the problem lies in the fact that this person was auditioning to be a puppet. She wants to be Miss America, and miss america has to be a politically correct puppet. Perez hilton is a chode, there is no escaping that fact, but she still has to jump through all the same hoops as everyone else.

Her answer was her opinion which was technically correct, but you have to play the game. Say what the world wants to hear, or you lose.

The girl could use some English classes as well, that answer was fucking ridiculous. And yes, I am aware of the irony of that sentence.

  9. “The girl could use some English classes as well…”

It sounds like they all need English classes, but, c’mon, who needs English classes when you can dress slutty, give guys boners and smile?

  10. David says:

Anything to do with either beauty pageant contests or Perez Hilton is a tempest in a teapot.

Anyone who expects intelligence from a woman trained to prance across the stage in a bathing suit is more of a fool than the airhead on stage…and while I don’t like her opinion, I fine with the idea she has the right to give it – especially when asked.

I don’t see why gays pay taxes and fulfill all obligations of American society but are denied many rights like marriage and, on the federal level, freedom from discrimination in housing and employment. They are the last group against whom it is legal to discriminate – little wonder the religious zealots have focused on gays to give their membership a common enemy to hate. The joke is on them though – they would be sorely lacking piano and organ players, soloists and choir directors as well as the people who create the fabu costumes for the spring festivals.
