I got off the plane in Germany and saw my friend Joe waiting for me. It was my first trip to Europe and I knew I was in for an experience. Joe had been one of my best friends growing up and was studying abroad for a year in Germany. My plan was to crash with him for a month while we travel around Germany and other countries. Joe informed me that we going back to his place first to drop my stuff off and then out to eat and drink with some of the other students in his program.

The other day I ordered a salad from a restaurant around the corner from my house. I walked over there to pick it up and they asked if I would like any rolls with the salad. Being a fan of anything that is warm and yeast filled (jump to your own conclusions about that) I replied affirmatively.

At the time I decided that the best course of action was to forget about all this and go watch my friends that played on the boy’s basketball team. As that season got underway it became clear that some of my friends were having problems with the coach.
