I am filing a protest
Recently there was a contest for the writers of the blog network I write for.
Here is what the contest was:
This year, one lucky b5media blogger will win an all access badge, three nights of accommodations in Las Vegas and airfare (up to $800 CAD) for BlogWorld Expo. The contest will run from June 11-25, 2008 and all you have to do is send us a video about one of the following Ed related themes (if you didn’t know that he’s b5’s VP of Social Engineering and Development…you’ve got a lot of work to do).
1. Describe your perfect weekend with Ed.
2. Find Ed a girlfriend.
3. What’s Ed’s last name?
All the b5 bloggers are welcome to enter.
(Note: Ed is a dummy these use.)
From all the submitted videos, b5media will pick the best one and announce the winner on Friday June 30, 2008.
NOTE: Applicants must be a b5media blogger and be age 21 years or older. Group blogs are eligible, but each blogger must submit themselves individually.
Our internal b5media judges will be looking for creativity, commitment, humour and that little something extra in order for the video to win.
I went to blog world expo last year. It was a great place to meet people in the social media industry and it is always fun to watch me try and explain what my blog actually is. Plus there are hot chicks and geeky guys. So I look hot while I am there.
How did this entry not win?
How the hell could I not have won?
Anyways… I am going to be off until monday. For everyone here in the states have a happy July 4th weekend. If you are British, enjoy lusting about our open spaces and it all could have been yours if we didn’t beat your asses. Instead you live on a small island and have poor dental care…. We rule.

I can only guess that the judges were highly offended that you continually mis-spoke the “anyway” as “anyways”. Anyway doesn’t have a plural and, as discerning judges, they would know that.
Otherwise, your entry was so utterly and udderly perfect, it should have blown the others completely out of the running.
As a fan, I am crushed that you were disrespected heinously in that contest.

Maybe if we saw the winning video we’d have a better comparison… not that yours isn’t great and all. Maybe they were looking for less narrative and more movie-type action.
