Posh and Beck, Posh and Becks, Posh and Becks
In my lifetime I can’t remember a story that has been shoved down our throats more than this, well except for maybe the debut of “Cop Rock”. David and Victoria Beckham have moved to the United States, not like you didn’t know at this point. While most people complain about this and say that they don’t really care, I have a confession to make, I can’t get enough of it.
It is like a fender bender on the freeway, no matter how much I know I shouldn’t look and how much I don’t want to… I HAVE to. In the last week between the LA Times and the Daily News I have read like 10 articles on them, every sports site I go to the one web I feel compelled to read about them, and even in the new Sports Illustrated I made sure to read the front page feature on Becks. I guess I know what addiction feels like because I can’t get enough Posh and Becks. Maybe I am not at the point where I will blow a guy to get ten bucks so I can buy the next magazine with them on the cover, check back in a week though things could change.
The thing is I can’t figure out why I have any interest in this story at all. I don’t follow Major League Soccer, I am not a Spice Girl fan, I am not a celebrity gossip whore, why do I even care? Furthermore, how do I break myself of this Posh and Becks addiction?
1) Attach electrodes to nipples and shock myself whenever I turn on their reality TV show- A little negative reinforcement can go a long way.
2) Stop reading the paper- Since most the LA papers have turned into Posh and Becks trackers I am going to forgo reading the news and just by a ton of old issues of Swank Magazine which leads me to…
3) Masturbate more- Maybe it is just an allocation of time issue?
4) Focus on Ginger Spice- She is my favorite Spice Girl after all…
5) Move to England- I am sure they don’t talk about them over there at all.
6) Scrap it all and become the next Crocodile Hunter- I think there is some potential in this… Except for the unexpected pissing of the pants.
