After three years of blogging I have finally crossed something that I wouldn’t write about because I felt bad about doing it. In the past I have covered pretty much every topic I came across and wrote about it with wreckless abandon. Today though I have found something so pathetic that I can’t make fun of it, I feel that bad about it.
You see I went to see Spiderman 3 last night and while I was in line getting tickets a small van from a group home pulled up to the theater. This collection of warm hearted, differently abled people got out of the van and filed in line, up to the ticket window. Their driver goes up and talks to the manager of the cinema, notifying him that they are there for a special screening of a surprise movie. The theater manager informs them that they are going to see a very special screening of “Delta Farce“. (The new movie starring Larry the Cable Guy and Bill Engvall.)
The driver, obviously a little disappointed, turns to the group and tells them, “We are going to see a special screening of ‘Delta Farce’, does anyone have any questions?”
Towards the end of the line, a girl using a special walker musters up enough strength to raise her hand, the driver points at her and says, “Jennie, go ahead.” To which she replies, “We may be retarded but we’re not that retarded, lets go home.”
A rousing round of applause breaks out amongst them and they all head back towards the van. The theater manager then turns to my friend and I and says, “Even retarded people don’t want to see this movie, and I thought that would be their core demographic.”
Lesson: Even retarded people have standards.
Without even having to watch it, is Delta Farce the worst movie ever?
