I totally agree with you Bobby.. I tried to watch the first movie when it came out and the second but never got into it.

My problem is that harry potter (daniel radcliffe) is a fucking gay nerd and everytime i see or think about his face i just want to smash it!

Any male fan of his is probably gay!

You’re entitled to your opinion, but saying a book sucks because it is too long is one of the worst arguments I’ve ever heard. HP may be a children’s series, but it deals with a lot of topics that adults deal with, and the story line is deep and complex. People of any age can enjoy it. Also, I failed to see one valid criticism of the content in the novels. To me, this sounds like the rantings of someone who’s seen the movies, but never read the books.

Hmm, it seems to me that you think the fan frenzy surrounding the books is annoying, and not the books themselves (perhaps you should change the title). I fully agree with you about the fans, it’s absurd. But the books themselves are good reads, though not the most thought provoking, they’re truly engaging.

HP sucks ass, but these folks obviously know how to market this crap well. It’s pathetic to see adults dressed up in costumes, waving their wands and shit. The people need to grow the fuck up and read a real book.

HP books don’t stand alone and could never be in the same league as The Classics. I can’t believe teachers use these books in their curriculum. HP is nothing more than refurbished bullshit plots. I would rather read, “What’s Your Poo Telling You?”

Thank you so much for your wonderful rant Leila! I think you covered all the aspects of Twilight. But you forgot to mention the bit that it was originally a wet dream of Smeyer. The person you replied to is apparently a sad obsessed fan whom seems to enjoy plugging in twilight into every conversation. She needs help. They all do. And, I don’t believe they could make twilight rated R simply because, based on demographics, teens ages 12-15 are the most avid followers (that and moms). In my theater, they don’t allow those ages into an R rated film. So you might have to wait for the DVD release at a nearby Hot Topic sweetie.

Now to the person who wrote this:

Pretty much all of your evidence for Harry Potter’s suckiness was subjective.

Seriously, if you want to complain about how Harry Potter sucks, at least get some objective facts about it. Sounds easy, right? Not so much; objective facts about it don’t exist because “sucks” is in itself a subjective adjective. If you want to complain, complain about something objective regarding the books or movies. Don’t complain about how much your opinion hurts. Sure, you had some objective facts, but those objective facts didn’t objectively suck; the means by which you portrayed them made them *subjectively* suck. Suppose I said that killing people was good because it was thinking far, far outside the box (outside the largest box of all: morality). I’d be right that it was thinking far, far outside the box, but does that mean that killing people is good? No, it does not; not objectively, at least. So stop treating your opinion as objective fact and go find some other way to feel intellectually superior.
